WEEE MANAGEMENT & TAKE-BACK SYSTEM SERBIA

In advance of implementation of the Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive in 2010, our project Process design for  the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Treatment was designed to identify best practice options for collecting, processing and remanufacturing/recycling these items in Belgrade, Serbia  . Goal of this blog is to design the expert system together with appropriate technological processes for the WEEE used materials treatment. Expert system will have options which will guide the user for the complete WEEE used material evaluation, collection, selection and recycling. Proposed project with defined activities will solve the problems associate with the WEEE used materials treatment with significant recycling economical effects. Besides the development and design of treatment processes one of the project goals is evaluation of the detailed process documentation for the industrial scale plant. All processes will be designed in the purpose to be applying in the existing plants and to use existing plant unit recourses. Obtained project results will be available for usage in the participant plants.
Institute Mihajlo Pupin is the leader in designing and production of sofisciated electronic and telecomunication compnents and equipment during decades, which were succesfully incorporated in various industrial and servising systems in our country. Fast grow and developement of the information and telecomunication equipment (IT), demand frequent upgrading and equipment substitues with the new and sofisciated one, which on the oter hand generate large amounts of used electronic and electric components (WEEE) which must be tretaed and recycled. Specific problems are monitors with the vacuum tubes. Our country is on the list of large importers of used, second hand , electronic equipment, which have to have proper tratment after usage. This components and parts are asume to be waste after use, but they have high recyclin  potential, so then project program involve design and implementation of variuous treatmen processes for the recyclin of the WEEE materials such as: bateries, swiches containg mercury, printed circuits, vaccum tubes, liqiud crystal displays, gas discharge lamps, cables of all sizes, components with precisious and rare earth metals. Besides the evident economical efect realisation of the proposed research will lead to significant ecological efects.
